The Bachelor of Medicine Program at the University of Newcastle is a five year degree including both undergraduate and graduate students. It was the first medical program to introduce the Problem-Based Learning structure to which so many other medical students are now accustomed. In the third year of the degree there is a focus on general practice and all students complete a total of six weeks prac with GPs in both rural and urban settings. Hopefully a good experience here will mean more students will consider becoming GP registrars in the future. |
